Description

Throttle actuators regulate the supply of air or mixture to the combustion engine. Depending on the engine concept, this serves different purposes. In the case of gasoline engines, speed and power are regulated by means of a dosage of fresh air or a mixture. Diesel engines generally do not need a throttle valve. However, in modern diesel cars, regulating the amount of air intake makes it easier to control the accuracy of exhaust gas recirculation and prevents the engine from shaking when the ignition is turned on.
